HAURI, expression of Will toward Growth

This year, building Reliability and Infrastructure based on Growth
Mr. Young-Jong Kim, new CEO of HAURI Inc., said "only think of stable and real Revenue."

HAURI Inc, a computer virus vaccine and data recovery program developing company, announced HAURI has recorded the highest sales volume and net profit during the last third quarter. According to the numerical statement during the last third quarter, the total sales increased more than 347%, the net profit increased 157%, the operation profit increased 152% compare to last year.

Mr. Kim, assigned as a new CEO of HAURI Inc last Nov. 21, said "This remarkable result and growth are made by 'Will" of all HAURI members." And "I can't feel much difference as a CEO because I took the substantial management already since I joined HAURI as a vice-president and, however, we will more focus on improving Reliability externally and creating stable Revenue. "

Q. How do you feel after being appointed as a new CEO?

A. I don't feel any difference because I was responsible for total management since I worked as a vice-president on Jan. 5th. If we tried to set up a stepping-stone to reach to our goal this year, we will concentrate on more stable revenue next year. Furthermore, we will build external reliability not to hear any unnecessary rumors from outside, and we will do the true competition with other AV companies.

Q. Can you tell us about your career?

A. My first workplace was 'HANSOFT'. I learned a lot of works from the Mr. Lee(President of HANSOFT) and I consecutively worked through GONUSOFT, CASTWISE as well as SECURESOFT. After passing through SECURESOFT, I took the position of vice-president in HAURI Inc.
Specially, I remember the moment when I established an office which is called CASTWISE after receiving small investment. At the time when my management skill was not sufficient even if the product was recognized, that hard time for 3years became a good teacher now. Besides, I think I can understand various difficulties and anxious of each employees because I have worked from a new recruit to a director. Those experiences worked with 1st generation management of IT venture are very helpful now.

Q. What is the most important skill as a Manager?

A. I think it's Confidence and Chemistry with a member. If there is no confidence and sharing the goal with the member, nothing can be possible. I don't forget the difficulties I experienced when I was a new recruit, manager, director, President. I think all of the employees have same procedures. I fully understand them. Each employees has their own anxious according to their position and it should be different. The representative must recognize it and understand it.



Q. What is the medium and long term plan of HAURI?

A. Our goal is to set up a firm position in local market next year. I think there was some progress already by creating a confidence. To become 1 or 2 ranks in local AV market, we will more concentrate on Sales capability. Based on local market, we will extend the overseas markets like US and Latin market as well as Japan and China market. Besides, we will find new business model at new viewpoint. We will take intensive aim at a home-user market as well as maintaining the previous Enterprise market, Public institution.
We also prepare to have a powerful single engine to be a real native brand.
Currently, we are preparing the increase of capital, however, there will be no overstatement. HAURI will be reborn substantially. We have announced the real total sales without a bubble. We will also announce the clear sales volume for this year and it will be continued. The most important thing is where, how, how much actually HAURI sold.

Q. Do you have a word to your employees?

A. I want to thank to all HAURI members. They really worked hard and achieved the good result. There is nothing I did. Currently, HAURI is filled with a strong confidence and will. Each of entire employees is worth to a hundred persons. I want to thank to them again, and I will try to more communicate with them.

Q. How do you prospect the market?

A. The existing parts that we've invested will bring the satisfying results soon. Because we can not compete with Symantec or Macafee directly in US market, we will have a vertical market strategy to maximize the sales volume. In case of Latin market, we have a satisfying result now and we hope it will be better than this year. Besides, we are planning to cooperate with a reliable partner to make more outcome in Japan and China market.
Currently, the sales volume in local market is taking 65% of total sales and overseas market is taking 35%. I think it’s ideal. Hereafter, we will make it for 6:4 or 5:5, but currently, we will maintain it well-balanced and more focus on increasing the sales volume.

Q. Do you think you are a charismatic CEO or mild CEO?

A. As I experienced with many CEO, the ideal CEO is the one who has both sides 50:50. Well... I think I have both characters, but I think each employee has different opinion according to their position.

Q. Do you want to change anything in HAURI?

A. Currently, HAURI has many positive cultures. So, it’s better to maintain the existing culture and doing mind shift than changes. I prefer the natural changes than compulsory changes. In case of business part, we should have an innovation, however, HAURI's culture itself will have no changes. .I believe HAURI employees will make it positive by themselves. I hope each of HAURI member will maintain their strong will.

Q. How do you think about the entering of MS into security market?

A. It's a new challenge, anyway. But, there will be no running alone by MS. The market share of MS will be increased little by little, but local AV companies will prevent it together. We don't much worry about it because HAURI has the product differentiation that MS can not do. MS is one of AV companies like Symantec or Macafee. We can defeat it.

Q. How do you spend your time at workplace and home?

A. I usually come to office at 9~10 AM. I spend the morning for the report process most of time and have a meeting outside in the afternoon. I usually go home after 11:00 PM
I respect the lifecycle of HAURI family, especially for engineers. I work hard and tightly during the weekdays, but I do all-in my family during weekends. During the weekends, I separate the work from my family and I don't work because I need to refresh perfectly during the weekends.
Nowadays, I had no chance to exercise, so I want to have more times for that. I like to play a basketball and read some mind control books instead of technical books.

Q. When did you first contact a PC?

A. When I was 3rd year class in middle school, I first contacted a PC. It was amazingly interesting. There were no such computer magazines yet. So, I used to walk around to buy a japanese book in the electronic market. I'm happy to have the job I love.

Q. Don't you have difficulties as non-founder CEO?

A. I think the viewpoint for initially released product and founding member is different between a founder and non-founder CEO. I'm aware of this because I have established a company in 2000. I sometimes measure which one will be deeper between the foster parents and the natural parents. We can not ignore the natural parents but, the foster parents can be closer than the natural parents. I will show more affection to HAURI from now on.

Q. What is the goal of sales next year?

A. I assume that the total sales for this year will be around US$ 9.7 million. It almost reached to our goal (US$ 10 million) for this year. We are now making the realistic goal for the next year and we assume that it will be around US$ 14~15 million. Repeatedly, it is a real sales volume that all virtual image is removed.
