Global Hauri Offers Homeland Security Data Solution for Government Administration Applications; Sharply Reduces "Backdoor" Data Security Vulnerabilities

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/28/2004 -- Government Security Conference -- Global Hauri, leader of real-time virus eradication and publisher of ViRobot antivirus software, presents the LiveCall Suite for Government Administration, a new class of security tool to prevent fraud and data theft for any online transaction.

Hacking into a client's PC and "backdooring" has increased sharply, resulting in the risk of "terminating" a secure network in an "untrustworthy" PC. A hijacked PC could send the clients' login ID and password to a widely available tool used by hackers. Identity theft such as key logging uses a method which "listens" to the most basic component of computing, the I/O (input/output) stage. That means that a hacker can receive key logging information from the victim's computer before it is encrypted by PKI. The LiveCall Suite provides encryption on Keyboard I/O and prevents information leakage against even new key loggers.

There is no way to control an out-of-network-user's computer who needs access to government network system to get information or use services. With LiveCall any government agency or vendor will be able to assess a potential security threat on any PC logging onto a secure network. Every year, for instance, many people rush to the IRS website around tax time. They have the option to pay their tax by credit card. When logging on to make payments, a small program would download to the user's PC and check for any Trojans or viruses. LiveCall sits on a server at the other end of the web connection, monitoring this small program. This centralized server would allow critical transactions only if the user's computer is clear of any malicious code or advise the user to clean the PC before a transaction is allowed LiveCall not only looks for typical Trojan behavior, such as recording keystrokes, "listening in" on communications, or accessing a network, but it also initiates a unique feature -- a memory scan. When it finds a Trojan, it blocks the transaction and offers to remove it from the client's PC before continuing.

This software is specifically targeting all Government related websites such as GSA, Treasury department, USCIS, etc. Hauri developed LiveCall to address the problem of increased identity and data theft.

"Any government organization sharing data with the public knows that Homeland Security is a technology issue. Hacking into a server through public access is the most vulnerable part of a data transaction," said Eric Kwon, CEO of Global Hauri. "Despite growing concern, it appears that many agencies still underestimate the importance of securing data access."

"Many of these bureaucracies have invested heavily to secure the network connection to their employees' PCs. As an example, Public Utilities Services uses PKI infrastructure so that all transactions from the field agent's PC to the centralized transaction server would be done securely. However, a vendor's PC is "untrustworthy" because the administration has no control over the security of this "out of network" PC. It is not practical for any administration to expect all its clients to have PCs updated with the latest antivirus scans and firewalls," Mr. Kwon continued.

Live Call has been welcomed by banking and e-tailers who need to comply with the California law that took effect July 1, requiring companies to alert their California customers if hackers or employees steal information that could be used for identity theft. Hauri's solution not only benefits government administration, banking and e-tail sites, LiveCall could also be used by ISPs to keep the vast population of home PCs free from these threats.

Global Hauri's technology won this year's The Best Awards Software at RetailVision spring 2004, confirming its market recognition and following Hauri's recent entrance into Microsoft Virus Information Alliance (MS VIA) as a leading security provider. Global Hauri's flagship ViRobot Expert antivirus software has been awarded the Trojan Checkmark and "Antivirus Level 1 and 2" certification by West Coast Labs, one of the most respected independent IT security organizations in the world. ViRobot Expert has also been awarded the "VB 100%" for Windows XP by the Virus Bulletin. Hauri also received the prestigious 'Designed for Windows XP certification,' which designates the highest degree of compliance with Microsoft Windows technical standards.

Global Hauri's GSA Contract Number is GS-35F-0410P
