New Computer Virus Reaches Korea
04/05/04
A computer virus that can be transmitted through email, even if you don't open an attachment is spreading at a rapid pace. Some vaccine companies believe that the worm is spreading at the fastest speed ever in virus history.
Vaccine sites such as AhnLab (ahnlab.com) and Hauri (hauri.co.kr) reported that the P variant of the Bagle virus, the latest version of the worm, reached Korea on Thursday morning. Ordinary email viruses can usually be transmitted only when attached files are opened. However, this virus does not have an attached file but computers can be infected just by opening an email program such as Outlook Express. Vaccine companies are urgently distributing programs that can cure the virus through their websites. The virus has a title that says, ‘Re: Hello’‘Re: Yahoo!’‘E-mail technical support message’ and has an empty text. Click: http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200403/200403180028.html |
