Thorough localization, advanced user preference survey.

HAURI, one of the two Korean anti-virus giants along with AhnLab, takes another step forward to capture leadership in the global security market.
Since the establishment of 'Global HAURI' in the iPark venture center in the US two years ago, the company is taking aggressive actions to establish a strong presence in the American market, with growing expectations of positive results this year.
It is expected that HAURI will expand its share in global security market as the spread of e-mail worms like the Win32/MyDoom boosts global needs for more powerful anti-virus solutions like HAURI's products.

> What is 'Global HAURI'?

'Global HARUI' is the American joint venture subsidiary of HAURI Inc., a Korean security expert listed on the KOSDAQ.
Global HARUI was established as a HAURI outpost in America, an arena already crowded with the most renowned anti-virus companies in the world.
"HAURI" means "Under the sky do we stand" in Korean. The company boasts confidently its technology's superiority in the anti-virus and data recovery field.
The current CEO, Mr. Kwon Seok-chul, along with five other people, established HAURI in 1998.

Mr. Kwon is one of the most famous figures in Korea's anti-virus industry. He is credited with dramatically improving Korean anti-virus technology, and positioning the industry in a globally competitive level.
His older brother, Mr. Kwon Seok-won has taken charge of Global HAURI management.
He also majored in engineering, and is also well aware of the necessity and potential of anti-virus solutions. When his brother asked him to undertake American operation, he accepted without any hesitation.
Last year, in a new base for pioneering Latin American markets, 'HAURI Latinoamerica S.A.' was established in Mexico.
Telefonica, the largest telecommunication service provider in Mexico, and Bachoco S.A., a leader in the Mexican dairy industry, UAM (a Mexican university), and ING Life Insurance in Chile, are all satisfied customers of HAURI's security software.

Brazil has also emerged as a promising market.
HAURI has reached a partnership agreement with Phoenix Technologies, seeking to gain access to Brazil's network security market.

> What are Global HAURI's business strategies?

CEO Kwon Seok-won of Global HAURI says, "American firms are rather conservative, which in fact makes it hard to persuade them to switch to HAURI's products from previous solutions." But he also showed his confidence, saying, "Aggressive sales activities aiming at niche markets, will ensure great results."

The main strategy for the global market is a strategically executed localization process.
As a part of such efforts, they contracted with the most famous local PR agency, and are focusing on the establishment of the HAURI brand in the market.
HAURI even changed all of its brochures, websites, and product manuals to effectively speak to the preferences of local customers, based on insights derived from the advice of local experts.
Salespeople of HAURI always perform surveys to understand the motivating factors of customers prior to an actual meeting with them. Such attention to understanding the customer, wherever he lives, will be another key factor of HAURI's success.

The founder and CEO of HAURI, Mr. Kwon, is known as a self-made man in this industry.
He made his way for years, becoming the unquestioned leader of anti-virus industry without even a bachelor's degree. Still, he was able to leave behind the best known experts in the field. He continues to invest in recruitment and training, and discovering and employing the best in human resources.

He continues to focus on trust-building in both customers and staff.
As a result, Mr. Kwon's high credibility and human resource policies have been the most enduring symbol of the corporate strength of HAURI.
Mr. Kwon has also stressed the importance of technical superiority. HAURI's technical superiority has led to the release of a series of unique and successful products, including 'virus detector' and 'repairing vaccine'.
Now HAURI's main technical focus is RCT (Real-time Cleaning Technology), a new anti-virus platform for businesses.

> What is the Global HAURI vision?

HAURI is competing with the world's largest and most successful security leaders, like McAfee and Norton, and are confident that HAURI will succeed in capturing a greater share in the business and consumer markets of the US.

The latest success was securing the contract to provide anti-virus solutions for the government of Butte County, California.
Intel, one of the global IT leaders, has recently introduced HAURI products to some in-house divisions. They decided that more verification is needed for overall implementation.
But they also noted HAURI products' excellent performance.
Global HAURI will seek more partnerships with leading IT companies, and will expand its sales network through retail sales.
If everything works out as expected, HAURI might be listed on NASDAQ by 2007.
